INSTRUCTIONS
(1) Calf Measurement: Measure the circumference of both calves exactly 10 cm below the tibial tuberosity. A difference of > 3 cm is significant (+1 point). (2) Active Cancer Definition: Only score +1 for active cancer if the patient has received treatment for it within the last 6 months, or if the cancer is explicitly receiving palliative care. (3) Alternative Diagnosis: You must objectively assess if another diagnosis (e.g., cellulitis, Baker's cyst rupture, superficial thrombophlebitis, muscle tear) is equally or more likely than a DVT. If yes, you must subtract 2 points.
